As of January 1, 2022, the new driveway, and repairs to existing driveways, installations are as follows:

Once the Licking County Engineer’s Office has approved the location of a new driveway on a St Albans Township Right of Way (ROW), the property owner is responsible for submitting this application to St. Albans Township for approval. The installation of the drive approach or repairs to existing driveways within the ROW will be completed by the St Albans Township Road Department. If the township road does not have an established ROW of record, then the driveway approach will be installed by the Road Department into the property using a measurement of 30 feet from the centerline of the road into the property.

Based on culvert and gravel pricing as of January 2022, a minimum pricing for the materials for new driveway entrances will be one thousand dollars ($1000). A larger, longer culvert, or special conditions, will increase this cost.

St. Albans Township will install a 40-foot culvert with the required base and cover materials for the driveway entrance. Any damage to the installed driveway entrance during construction of the remaining driveway into the property, and related construction of structures or uses on the property, shall be reviewed by St Albans Township officials and the property owner, and the contractor will be notified of required repairs needed to the driveway approach/entrance.

St Albans Township officials will continue to inspect new driveways for any damage to the driveway approach during the construction of structures and related uses. St Albans Township will repair any damage to the driveway approach until construction is completed. If the cost of Township repairs exceeds the $1,000 fee, the Township will invoice the property owner for the additional cost of such repairs.

New driveway approaches and repairs will be completed by St Albans Township within 14 days of approved driveway permit, weather permitting.
